On March15, a grand opening ceremony of CNTIC contracting southern highway project was held in Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka president Mahinda Rajapaksa and Chinese ambassador to Sri Lanka gave speeches at the ceremony. More than 6000 persons from Chinese Embassy in Sri Lanka Commercial Counselor's Office, Representative Office of the Export-Import Bank of China, Representative Office of CNTIC in Sri Lanka, with CNTIC president Tang Yi and Sri Lanka Prime Minister Jaya Ratner witnessed the opening of the highway.
